Dr. Kristin Mascotti is a seasoned Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer with over twenty five years of healthcare experience in large academic medical centers, integrated health systems and community hospitals. She has previously served as the System Chief Medical Officer at Naples Comprehensive Health System in Florida, System Chief Quality Officer/Interim Chief Medical Officer over four hospitals in Long Beach, California, and Enterprise Vice President of Clinical Quality at University of Minnesota Health, an eight-hospital academic medical center. She has a proven ability to transform physician culture through collaborating with physicians for unprecedented results.
Dr. Mascotti also founded a Physician Leadership Academy where leaders were the first physicians in the nation to “fly” simulated missions like The Blue Angels at the National Flight Academy in Pensacola, FL. She has been recruited to found the 2025 National Dyad Leadership Certification Program for the American Association of Physician Leaders (AAPL). The physician-nurse leader cohort will participate in a project-based program that highlights the dyad relationship, meta leader communication, and LEAN principles to drive organizational outcomes.
She graduated summa cum laude in biology from the University of Wisconsin and subsequently completed her medical education at the University of Minnesota. After her Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency at Hennepin County Medical Center, in Minneapolis MN, she attended her fellowship in Transfusion Medicine at the University of Minnesota. She was one of the first physicians in the country to complete a Master’s of Science in Healthcare Quality and Safety Management (MS-HQSM) at Thomas Jefferson University School of Population Health.
Her hobbies include skiing, hiking, and travel. She is thrilled to be joining the fantastic team at Penrose Hospital!
