Optum Advisory
Ashlyn Knaur brings eleven years of experience to her role as Manager with Optum Advisory. As a Manager, Ms. Knaur supports health system and medical group executives in solving strategic and operational challenges through dedicated project management, subject-matter expertise, and data-driven solutions. Ms. Knaur has gained proficiency in medical group optimization through prior roles in physician services-related consulting and medical group operations.
Prior to joining Optum, Ms. Knaur served as a Senior Consultant for QHR Health’s Physician Services and Strategy consulting teams, where she partnered with consulting team leaders and client executives to conduct comprehensive practice assessments and craft strategic plans. Her work in this capacity focused primarily on provider groups affiliated with or employed by independent community hospitals or rural health clinics.
Before her time with QHR Health, Ms. Knaur served as Director of Operations for a multispecialty private practice in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role she managed four clinic locations for a 40+ provider group including specialized orthopedic surgery, spine and neurosurgery, physiatry, podiatry, pain management, and sports medicine. Related service lines, including imaging, physical and occupational therapy, and durable medical equipment services, were also within her scope.
Formerly, Ms. Knaur served as a Medical Group Advisor with The Advisory Board Company, where she specifically focused on the delivery and client relationship management for Crimson Medical Group Advantage memberships across 25 diverse organizations. Ms. Knaur partnered with CMGA users and providers to identify opportunities for improvement within their data and devise action plans to address them.
Ms. Knaur holds a Master of Science in Health Administration and a MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from Auburn University. As part of her academic training, Ms. Knaur completed an administrative fellowship with Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
