Vice President, Physician Practice Management

Craig Nesta is currently Vice President, Physician Practice Management for Emerson Health in Concord, MA and leads finance and operations for the multi-specialty employed medical group. Craig is also the Fellowship Director for the Emerson Health Administrative Fellowship Program, a program he developed in 2017. Prior to joining Emerson Health, Craig has held leadership positions at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital Boston and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. During his twenty-seven year career in physician practice management, Craig has focused on practice growth initiatives, workforce recruitment and retention, operational excellence and sustained financial performance.
Craig has held several volunteer leadership positions including Fellow, Team Lead as well as past Chair of the Accreditation Council for the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management, the accrediting body for graduate healthcare education. Additionally, Craig served on the Board of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration. Craig has served multiple terms on HFMA National Advisory Councils and currently serves on the Board of the MA/RI HFMA Chapter
Craig has held faculty appointments at the Boston University School of Public Health and at Stonehill College in the Department of Health Administration. Craig has taught courses in Healthcare Finance, Healthcare Law, and Organizational Behavior as well as developed a series of professional seminars including the value that healthcare associations add to the professional development journey.
Craig is a graduate of Babson College and has earned a JD at Suffolk University Law School, a Master’s of Science Degree from Renssealear Polytechnic Institute and a MBA from the University of Hartford. Prior to joining the healthcare field, Craig graduated from the two-year financial management training program at United Technologies Corporation and held finance positions at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.
In addition to being an active Fellow with HFMA, Craig is also a Fellow with ACHE and ACMPE.
