Jessica Hazard, MPH, serves as a Senior Director and brings more than 25 years of experience to her role with Optum Advisory. Jessica specializes in transformational and turn-around work with large health systems focused on medical group optimization, management and governance structures, service line design, access to care, clinical care standardization, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic planning.
Jessica has worked with many health systems to evaluate medical group legal entity structure, governance model, management structure, operations (revenue cycle, financial performance, access, and clinical workflows), and physician compensation as compared to best practice. Her work also pertains to the medical group’s ability to deliver on system strategic growth and quality plans, with aligned recommendations to take into account existing population health initiatives and structures.
Prior to working with Optum, Jessica served as Departmental Administrator for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (“Vanderbilt”). Prior to her time at Vanderbilt, Jessica served as Ambulatory Program Director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina Health Care System.
Jessica holds a Master of Public Health in nutrition and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy and Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
