This comprehensive review of the many forms of disruptive and unprofessional behavior will explore the costs associated with them and the barriers that prevent us from addressing them. Dr. Gussak will provide a framework/differential for understanding disruption that aligns well with the clinical problem-solving method physicians use in patient care. This provides leadership with another tool for conceptualizing unprofessional behavior and engaging physicians. Dr. Gussak will present modalities used in her coaching program at the Center for Clinical Communication and Professionalism and outcomes data from the program.
