Engaging physicians to enhance quality, safety, patient experience and financial stability is crucial for healthcare executives. At St. Luke's Clinic, we tackled this challenge by implementing a 12-month program to develop and coach our service line dyad leaders and emerging physician leaders. This initiative has delivered exceptional returns. Our program has significantly boosted key leadership competencies: effective communication and influencing skills surged by 35%, managing difficult conversations and providing constructive feedback by 47% , and building relationships and fostering trust within clinical and administrative teams by 28%. Additionally, there was a a 29% increase in leadership effectiveness within matrix organizations and a 32% improvement in team well-being. Through sharing our experiences and best practices, we aspire to empower healthcare leaders to replicate our success in fostering physician leadership excellence, ultimately driving tangible improvements in quality and financial outcomes.
